Viens Dans Mon Ăle Festival FAQ
Where is the VDMI Festival held?
The VDMI Festival is an open-air event held at Fort de Pierre Levée, also known as the Citadelle, near Port Joinville on the island.
Is there assigned seating?
No, the audience stands and seating is open. Some seats are available for an additional fee, sold only at the Tourism Office and the ticket trailer.
What happens in bad weather?
In case of rain, concerts are neither canceled nor moved indoors. Bring a raincoat or poncho, but no umbrellas. If the safety of people and property is at risk (strong winds, storms...), the event may be canceled, and tickets will be refunded.
Can we arrive anytime?
Yes, you can arrive at any time during the evening. However, re-entry is not allowed once you leave.
What items are prohibited?
Alcohol, liquids, glass bottles, cans, helmets, cameras, umbrellas, aerosols, animals, travel bags, suitcases, folding chairs, rolling and bulky items, weapons, sharp objects, and any potentially dangerous or bulky items. Only plastic bottles under 50cl without caps are allowed. There is a free locker at the entrance.
Are there parking facilities?
There is parking only for vehicles of people with reduced mobility (PRM) and two-wheelers. Outside this area, vehicles must comply with traffic regulations.
Facilities for People with Reduced Mobility (PRM):
Free seats are reserved. Just buy your ticket for the evening and bring your PRM card to the Citadelle entrance. A volunteer will escort you to your seat. Parking is also available for PRM vehicles.
Is food available on site?
Yes, you will find food (fries, sausages, croque-monsieur, crepes...) and drinks within the Citadelle.
What is Oya?
It's the festival currency (bar, food, merchandise). One euro equals one Oya. Exchange them at the festival entrance and within the Citadelle (credit cards accepted). Oyas are refundable.
Can we come from the mainland for a concert?
Yes, you can come for the evening by the festival boat (30-minute crossing). Timings depend on the tides; you might arrive just in time for the concerts or leave slightly before they end. No shuttles are available from the port to the Citadelle, so you must walk (about 15 minutes). This year, you can also arrive during the day to enjoy Ăle d'Yeu before the concert and leave afterward. Departures are from Fromentine, plus one from Saint Gilles on July 31.
- July 29th : One boat at 9:45 AM (70-minute crossing) and one at 4:30 PM, return at 1:00 AM.
- July 31st : One boat at 3:45 PM (70-minute crossing) and one at 6:15 PM, return at 1:00 AM. A boat from Saint Gilles Croix de Vie at 6:00 PM, return at 1:00 AM.
- August 2nd : One boat at 1:45 PM and one at 7:00 PM, return at 1:00 AM.
Tickets are available at www.viens-dans-mon-ile.com, under the special concert + boat category. Double-check the schedules and make sure to select the concert with the boat option. Tickets are also available at the festival ticket office and the tourist office.
Where can we buy tickets?
You can buy tickets on our website and at the Ăle d'Yeu Tourism Office. Our ticket trailer will also be at the port market from July 27.
Are refunds available?
No, tickets are non-exchangeable and non-refundable. Check our terms and conditions for more information.
Are there discounted rates?
Only children under 12 are eligible for a reduced rate. They must be accompanied by an adult.
What is the pass?
The pass allows you to attend all three evenings at a discounted rate. It is only valid for one person for all three nights. A specific pass bracelet will be issued on the first evening and must be kept until the last concert. No bracelet, no entry. Check our terms and conditions for more information.
Can we buy tickets on the night of the concert?
Yes, if the concert is not sold out, tickets are available at the Citadelle entrance until 9:00 PM. However, ticket prices will be increased by 2 euros. Check our terms and conditions for more information.
